Print Substrate

A print substrate is the surface or material onto which ink, toner, or other imaging substances are applied during a printing process. Substrates vary in texture, flexibility, and composition depending on the printing method and end-use application.

Applications:
Used across industries such as signage, packaging, interior décor, textiles, and labels. Choosing the right substrate is critical to achieving optimal print quality, durability, and functionality.

Types of Print Substrates:

  • Rigid: Foam board, acrylic, aluminum composite (Dibond), corrugated plastic

  • Flexible: Self-adhesive vinyl, PET film, fabric, paper, wallpaper/wallcoverings

  • Specialty: Magnetic media, leather, wood veneer, PVC-free alternatives
